Drafting in the Northwind Freight voice…Why route launches matter nowFor most of the past decade, we measured the health of ournetwork by how quickly we could open a new lane, and a routethat launched on schedule was counted as a success while aroute that slipped was a problem to be explained at the nextWhat we were getting wrongWhen we reviewed the launches of the past two years, thepattern was consistent: the problems rarely appeared on thefirst day, and they almost never appeared in the planningdocuments. They appeared in the third and fourth weeks, whenA slower, more deliberate launchEvery new route now passes through a four-week shadow periodbefore it carries customer freight. A warm, personal issue that keeps a weekly cadence without going generic, with two outline shapes to choose from.

An announcement post that explains the why before the what: the problem, how it works, who it's for and how to start.

A decision memo with context, options considered, a recommendation and next steps, short enough to be read in full.

Each draft follows the voice you pick. The demo's Verdant & Co letters stay warm, first-person and plain-spoken.

Three Voices, Ready to Write

Lines from the writing samples behind the demo's brand voices. The brands are fictional; the voices are real profiles you can open and edit.

"I started Verdant & Co in a spare room with one sewing machine and a stubborn idea: clothes should last longer than the trend that sold them."

Verdant & Co founder letters

Demo brand voice

"Northwind Freight operates regional lanes between more than forty depots, and we publish a service standard for each of them so that shippers can plan with confidence rather than hope."

"I cancelled every recurring meeting on my calendar last month. Nothing broke. A few things got better. Here's the thing: most meetings exist because nobody wrote the decision down."

Demo brand voice

"Most of the returns we see aren't faults. They're a loose button, a seam that's lifted, a zip that needs coaxing. So this year I'm trying something different."

"As we enter the winter period, we are adding capacity on our northern lanes and extending depot hours where demand has historically exceeded our forecasts."

FAQs

What the live demo does, what the full version adds, and what happens to your writing.

General-purpose assistants write from a prompt, so drafts drift toward an averaged, generic voice and long pieces lose their structure. Quill is built for one job: long-form in a specific brand voice. It learns a voice from real samples, drafts against an outline you approve, scores every draft for voice match, flags banned phrases, and gives editors inline rewrite, expand and tighten tools to finish the piece.

Yes. The live demo is the real studio running in your browser: create a document from a template, approve the outline, watch the draft stream in, then edit it. There is no sign-up, and your work is saved in your browser until you reset it. In the demo, text generation is simulated on your device, so no AI model is called.

Yes. Each writer, brand or founder gets a brand voice with its own formality, point of view, sentence rhythm, signature phrases and banned phrases. Banned phrases are never generated and are flagged wherever they appear, so a whole team can publish under one house style.

In the live demo, nothing leaves your browser. In the full version, samples and drafts live in your own database and are sent only to the model provider you choose, under your agreement with them. Voices and their samples can be deleted at any time.

Yes. The studio is a full editor: select any passage to rewrite, expand or tighten it in place, reorder or add sections, and restore earlier text from History. Finished drafts copy or download as Markdown.
